Judges’ Comments This book of art writing stood out to the judges for its well-executed typography and consistently considered design throughout. The type sits lightly on the page. This along with the generous use of white space and a monochromatic palette seemed to reference the white box of the contemporary gallery space, a feeling perhaps enhanced by the box-like heft of the spine. The overall impression is of restraint and a balance of classic and contemporary typographic influences dealt with calmly and confidently. The design is well paced and does a wonderful job of sustaining interest throughout the series of essays. A quiet achiever.
