Judges’ Comments The challenge of showcasing the work of this photographer and incorporating essays by various writers has been well met by this very intelligent, cohesive design. It confidently complements the work of Yvonne Todd without competing with it. Clever decisions were made around the use of different paper stocks, from the endpapers to the creamy uncoated stock used for the essays. Of particular delight is the case, which uses Todd’s work ‘Crepuscular Ice’ to great effect—especially without having the usual disruption of spine type— and also works wonderfully well in contrast to the luminous gold endpapers. Levine’s typography is restrained but elegant, and unifies the whole package.
