PANZ Book Design Awards
The Publishers Association of New Zealand (PANZ) established the PANZ Book Design Awards to promote excellence in, and provide recognition for, the best book design in New Zealand.
The entries are judged in nine categories:
- Penguin Random House Award for Best Illustrated Book
- Award for Best Non-illustrated Book
- Allen & Unwin Award for Best General Cover
- PANZ Award for Best Educational Book or Series – Primary
- PANZ Award for Best Educational Book or Series – Secondary or Tertiary
- Scholastic New Zealand Award for Best Children’s Book
- Te Papa Press Award for Best Typography
- HarperCollins Publishers Award for Best Cover
- Award for Best Cookbook and Lifestyle Book
The winner of the coveted Gerard Reid Award for Best Book sponsored by NielsenIQ BookData is chosen from the shortlist.
A further award goes to the Hachette Aotearoa NZ Emerging Designer.
Additionally the winner of the People’s Choice Award is chosen on the night by those attending the ceremony.
The winners of these prestigious awards will be announced at an awards ceremony in September.
