Judges’ Comments For a cook book to break away from putting it’s celebrity chef on the cover may be considered brave by some, foolish by others? …  but Depot is more than just a cook book with delicious recipes … as the subtitle notes it’s more a biography of the restaurant, and the collective of personalities and people that make Depot what it is. The restaurant aesthetic is built around a mismatched bach vibe with few rules, and this freedom is embraced by the designer to create a cover that is as much pop art as it a statement of breaking the mould and embracing their eclectic uniqueness. As noted in their vision statement, they are dead serious about not taking themselves too seriously.
