Emma Jakicevich has a wide-angled lens on the world of Graphic Design, with experience across marketing, advertising and digital design. In 2015, Emma started as Marketing Designer at then recently merged Penguin Random House before transitioning into Book Design as part of their Local Publishing team. Over the last 2 years Emma has worked across a wide range of books from children’s picture flats, board books and young adult fiction to station books and lush coffee table reads. Emma loves the permanence of book design, giving her the ability to design beautiful objects which don’t disappear, have the ability to sit on someone’s shelf for years to come with the possibility of becoming someone’s favourite.

Judges’ Comments: Emma Jakicevich shows a strong and consistent responsiveness to production values and understanding of the book as a physical object. From illustrated children’s book to photography lead publications, the design is confident and demonstrates a clear response to the subject at hand.
