Judges’ comments Understated and elegant, this book encourages the learning of te reo and the concept of mihimihi to readers. It’s instructive, helpful and unintimidating in style. There is a nice pairing of illustration style with (in parts) actual hand-rendered lettering. It’s deceptively simple but very sophisticated; the warm and charming illustrations successfully represent Aotearoa in a new way to the world.
