“The design of Capital Trees needed to reflect its focus on trees as significant active partners in the Wellington region’s nature-culture relationship and the book’s argument that there is a pressing need to both respect and protect them.
The design needed to be elegant and clean but not sterile. The subject matter should come through the cover design – a collage watercolour plates and sketches by Nancy Adams, botanist, botanical artist and museum curator.”
