Judges’ comments The remarkable use of vermilion on the cover, image sections, and side note text, pertinently references the colour of Shinto. There is a simple yet effective concept for the cover with a cut out window exposing one of four images, which references the Japanese design concept of borrowed views. The designer has demonstrated impeccable attention to detail. This is an elegant book.
