Judges’ comments: “Beautiful palette, lovely textural/illustration technique and legible back cover.”

“Very strong use of subtle colour. Technically very skilled execution of these gradients and soft blurs of colour transition with high production values. The flip of author name and title from cover to spine does seem to create a slight tension with the colour gradient through the title, perhaps there could have been a more uniform application in hierarchy and colour treatment. The colour transition through the blurb text on back cover does work well — it holds presence and hints at temperature fluctuations supported by the out of focus blurred textures.”

“Strikingly similar with same tones as the New Ships. The pastel is nice and the blur is a nice touch. Has impact, is bold and stands out. Great spine, too.”

“The simplicity and mystery of the design, and how the type melts into the background – evoking that fuzzy hazy ache of a fever.
