Judges’ comments Lavish in terms of scale, the highly considered typography—a masterclass of simplicity—ensures that the book never feels too showy. From the simple white-foiled deboss set to nod to the shape of Aotearoa, through to the highly considered internal proportions, everything is beautifully balanced. The simple layout gives lots of space for the admiration of the architectural work and photography, and the relative sizes of titles, quotes, body and caption are harmonious, with the effective grid system allowing perfect line lengths for reading. The custom typeface is an additional indication of a high quality and unique publication.
